Our Story
Familia Mechanical, LLC, was founded in 2022 in Edmond, Oklahoma, by Johnny and Kate Prieto—proud co-owners, parents, and community members.
As a Hispanic-, veteran-, and family-owned business, we’re committed to providing high-quality HVAC services at fair prices across Central Oklahoma.
Johnny began his journey in HVAC after working as an oil field welder for many years. After the oil field downturn in 2014, Johnny was facing job loss so he decided to pivot to a more stable and meaningful career. He earned his HVAC certification at Autry Technology Center in Enid while working in restaurants during the day to support his family. His path led him to Oklahoma City, where he became a licensed contractor with a vision to one day build something of his own.

Alongside him is Kate, an Air Force veteran who served at Tinker Air Force Base. After a successful career in cybersecurity and tech, she chose to invest her time and talent into the family business, committing herself to building a legacy for their three children: Priya, Elijah, and Baby Arlo.
As a second-generation immigrant from Chihuahua, Mexico, Johnny brings a deep personal connection to Oklahoma’s Hispanic community. Bilingual service is just one way we aim to make HVAC more accessible to the families who are too often overlooked.
